From self-doubt to confidence

Confidence starts from the inside out

When I first met Ester, she was second-guessing everything. She held back in meetings, doubted her own judgement, and avoided difficult conversations. Yet on paper, she was impressive; skilled, experienced, and more than capable. But that didn’t translate into how they felt day to day.

This is more common than people realise. We often think confidence comes from knowing more, doing more, or having everything figured out. But in reality, it starts from within.

A big part of coaching is helping people get to know themselves properly—not just their strengths and skills, but their values, beliefs, patterns, and triggers. That inner work can feel uncomfortable at times, but it’s also where the real shifts happen.

Through our sessions, Ester started to recognise where her doubts were coming from. She began to notice the stories she’d been telling herself, the unrealistic standards she was holding herself to, and the way she downplayed her own contributions.

Over time, she started to challenge that. She practiced speaking up, asked for what she needed, and held her ground in tough conversations. Her confidence didn’t suddenly appear overnight, but it grew steadily, because it was built on something solid.

Here’s what Ester had to say:

“Thanks to Joanna’s guidance, I now feel truly empowered. She has supported me through difficult workplace situations and challenging conversations while equipping me with the tools and strategies to continue growing with confidence.” Read full review

Confidence isn’t about being the loudest person in the room. It’s about knowing who you are, what matters to you, and how to show up in a way that feels right for you. Coaching can help you find that clarity and give you space to grow into it.
